What does "licensed in France" mean?
In France, only operators holding a licence issued by the Autorité nationale des jeux (ANJ) may offer online sports betting. The ANJ supervises the market, issues licences and publishes the list of authorised operators together with the categories they cover (sports betting, horse race betting, poker).
The list shown above covers the Sports betting category only. An operator licensed only for poker or horse racing does not appear in it. A licence confirms that the operator may legally offer the covered activity: it does not guarantee the best odds, the absence of disputes, or the profitability of bets.
Licensed entity and site name: what's the difference?
The official register shows the name of the legal entity that holds the licence, not just the public brand name. One company can run several brands, and one brand can use several domains. That is why the table above shows both the brand or site and the licence holder.
A licence issued in another country does not replace the French licence: to offer online sports betting in France, an operator must hold the matching ANJ licence, tied to a declared domain.
Why are some licensed bookmakers not tracked by OddScore?
The regulatory list and OddScore's coverage answer two different questions. The regulator says which operators are authorised to offer sports betting in France. OddScore says which operators are currently integrated into its odds comparison system.
A bookmaker can therefore be legally licensed without being tracked by OddScore. Conversely, the "Tracked by OddScore" badge never replaces a check with the regulator: it only means some of the operator's odds are compared by the platform.
How can I check a licence myself?
No third-party list replaces the official register. To check a licence yourself:
- Open the official ANJ register.
- Search for the brand, domain or entity concerned.
- Check that the licence status is active.
- Check that the licence covers online sports betting.
- Check that the domain used matches the officially declared domain.

Why does the list of licensed bookmakers change?
A regulatory list is never final. The ANJ may grant a new licence, renew an authorisation, register a new domain, record a change of brand or withdraw a licence. An operator may also voluntarily suspend an activity or leave the market. That is why the last-verified date should always be read together with the list.
Responsible gambling — a licence does not remove the risk. Sports betting carries a risk of financial loss. A regulatory licence does not make gambling risk-free.
