The 15-second essentials

In Belgium, a site may offer online betting only if its operator holds an F1+ license. That license does not stand on its own: it is added to an F1 license, granted for organizing betting offline. An online-only operator, with no physical activity in Belgium, therefore cannot be licensed. The official register publishes the licensed site, not a brand name: the "Brand or site" column below shows the domain exactly as declared.

What does "licensed in Belgium" mean?

In Belgium, offering online betting rests on a supplementary license, the F1+ license, not on a standalone online license. The Gaming Commission first grants an F1 license for organizing betting offline. Only afterwards, and only to the holder of that F1 license, can an F1+ license be granted for the online version of the same activity.

That structure has a direct consequence for the list above: every licensed site is backed by an operator that already runs a regulated betting activity in Belgium. An online-only operator with no Belgian footprint falls outside the scheme. The F1+ license also expires at the same time as the F1 license it depends on.

Licensed site and holder: what the register actually publishes

The Belgian register publishes the licensed site, not the commercial name. That is a substantive difference from other European registers, which list brands. The "Brand or site" column on this page therefore reproduces the domain as it appears in the official export, without substituting a trading name for it: it is precisely that domain, and only that one, that the license covers.

The holder shown next to it is the establishment in whose name the license is registered. It does not necessarily match the brand the public knows, and one company may run several declared sites under separate licenses.

Why are some licensed sportsbooks not tracked by OddScore?

The regulatory list and OddScore's coverage answer two different questions. The Commission says which sites are authorized to offer online betting in Belgium. OddScore says which operators are currently integrated into its odds comparison system.

A sportsbook can therefore be legally licensed without being tracked by OddScore. Conversely, the "Tracked by OddScore" badge never replaces a check with the regulator: it only means some of the operator's odds are compared by the platform.

How can I check a site myself?

No third-party list replaces the official register. To check a license yourself:

  1. Open the Gaming Commission's F1+ license register.
  2. Search for the exact domain, character by character.
  3. Check that the license expiry date has not passed.
  4. Check that the holder matches the establishment named on the site.
  5. If in doubt, consult the blacklist of unlicensed sites published by the Commission.

The general version of this checklist, reusable for any country, is set out in how to check that a sportsbook is licensed.

Why does the list of licensed sites change?

A regulatory list is never final. The Commission may grant a new F1+ license, record a change of site, note the transfer of a license between companies, or withdraw it. An F1+ license can also lapse because the F1 license it depends on was not renewed. That is why the last-verified date should always be read together with the list.

Responsible gambling — a license does not remove the risk. Sports betting carries a risk of financial loss. A regulatory license does not make gambling risk-free. Frequently asked questions

What is an F1+ license?

It is the supplementary license allowing betting to be organized online in Belgium. Only an F1 license holder — the license covering offline betting — may apply for it, and it expires at the same time as that license.

How do I check whether a betting site is licensed in Belgium?

Search for the exact domain in the F1+ license register published by the Gaming Commission. A domain that is close to but different from the one in the register is not covered by the license.

Is a license issued in Malta or Curaçao enough in Belgium?

No. Only a license issued by the Belgian Gaming Commission allows online betting to be offered in Belgium. Sites without a Belgian license appear on the blacklist published by the Commission.

Why does the list show a domain rather than a brand name?

Because that is what the register publishes: the Commission declares the licensed site, not the commercial name. Keeping the domain as it stands avoids introducing a brand name that is absent from the official source.

Why does the OddScore list differ from the official register?

The official register lists licensed sites. OddScore only tracks some of these operators to compare their odds. A sportsbook can be licensed without being tracked by OddScore.

Methodological transparency

This page is based on the official F1+ license export published by the Belgian Gaming Commission. The last-verified date shown in the box is authoritative; in case of a recent change, the official source remains the reference.

  1. Start from the official F1+ license register, never from OddScore's technical coverage.
  2. Keep the licensed site exactly as published, without substituting a commercial name for it.
  3. Tie every site to the holding establishment named in the register.

A license says who may operate. OddScore shows how odds move.
